Michael R. Lyon, BSc, MD
Dr. Michael Lyon is the Medical and Research Director for
the Canadian Center for Functional Medicine located in Vancouver , B.C. He
heads up a team of clinicians and researchers dedicated to biotechnology,
nutritional and natural health product research. He is involved in
collaborative clinical research with the University of Toronto and the Imperial
College of Medicine in London, England in the field of obesity, diabetes and
appetite regulation and with the University of British Columbia in the area of
childhood learning and behavioural disorders. He served as an Olympic Team
physician for four years from 1988-1992 and was also head of a National Sport
Science Committee for Sport Canada. In addition to publishing in the medical
literature, he is the author of ‘Healing the Hyperactive Brain through the New
Science of Functional Medicine‘, ‘Is your child’s brain starving?’ and is the
co-author of ‘How to Prevent and Treat Diabetes with Natural Medicine’ and
‘Beat Diabetes Naturally’. He has also authored two chapters in the latest
edition of the Textbook of Natural Medicine and one chapter in the Textbook of
Functional Medicine.

Dr. Michael Murray, ND
Dr. Michael Murray has built a solid reputation in his field as one
of the world’s leading authorities on natural medicine. He co-authored the
Textbook of Natural Medicine, which is regarded as the definitive textbook on
naturopathic medicine for practitioners. Additionally, he has written over 20
books for the general public including the Encyclopaedia of Natural Medicine
and latest offering - How to Prevent and Treat Diabetes with Natural Medicine.
In addition to his books, one of his major professional achievements has been
the role that he has played in making available many clinically effective and
evidence-based natural products to the health market. This has included
glucosamine sulfate, enteric coated peppermint oil and standardised botanical
extracts of St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo biloba and Silymarin. |

Michael Ash BSc.DO. ND. Dip ION is one of the UK’s leading
experts in nutritional medicine. His developmental research into mucosal
immunology and function has helped thousands have a greater understanding of
the interconnectiveness of our body’s systems. In clinical practice for over 22
years and founder of three nutritional companies he brings relevant information
and clinical tools to healthcare practitioners to expand their clinical skills
and competence. He now brings his knowledge and passion to the Scientific
Nutritional Advisory Board for BioCeuticals™. |

Dr. Michael A. Zeligs, MD
Dr. Michael A. Zeligs is a physician with a clinical and
academic career in physiology, paediatrics and the immunology of ageing. He is
currently investigating the use of cruciferous phytochemicals in ageing -
intervention and preventive nutrition. |

Melissa Peterson, ND
Melissa Peterson qualified as a naturopath in Australia and
has recently completed post graduate studies. Melissa was in clinical practice
for a number of years and has now moved into the area of education and
research. She has many years lecturing experience in Nutrition at one of the
leading naturopathic colleges in Sydney and is also currently Course
Co-ordinator (Department Head) of Naturopathy. Melissa is involved in many
facets within the technical area of BioCeuticals™ and has focussed her career
on the education of practitioners and students in the fields of medical
sciences and naturopathy. |

Eleanor Barrager, R.D. Dip. Ed
Eleanor brings years of clinical experience in nutrition and
dietetics to her position as Clinical Research Manager and Technical
Consultant. Her responsibilities include co-ordinating and overseeing
multi-centred clinical trials and presenting educational seminars. She has
worked as a nutritionist, taught at college level and published scientific
articles. |
